Al Shlosha: A New Approach to Religious School Music
Ellen Allard, Peter Allard, Jeffrey Klepper
8/11/2008 Monday 8:45 AM - 10:00 AM
Music Building , Recital Hall [Subject to change. Check the daily Cajepage.]
We all know how important music is. So many songs - so little time! Let's maximize the power and value of every song we teach. Al Shlosha is a new methodology, based on the premise that every song can function in three ways: Ruach, creating group identity; Limud, teaching Jewish knowledge and values; Ma'asim, transmitting Jewish skills and mitzvot. Even if you can't tell a ""middle C"" from a ""shining sea"", you'll learn how to extract these three key elements from any song. When your students sing this September, they'll be learning valuable knowledge, essential Jewish skills, and having fun!
