Clapping, Snapping, and Tapping: Using Music, Rhythm, and Movement To Make Childrens Prayer Come Alive
Ellen Allard, Peter Allard
8/12/2008 Tuesday 10:15 AM - 11:30 AM
Rowell, 118 [Subject to change. Check the daily Cajepage.]
Incorporating the Orff Schulwerk method of teaching music, we will show you how to use simple melodies and rhythms, body movement and chanting to make prayer reachable, accessible, and most of all, something our youngest children will want to do! Lets clap, snap, and tap into the great power that is music and learn how to use it to make prayer come alive for our children. (Orff Shulwerk is a type of music education that incorporates singing, chanting rhymes, clapping, dancing, moving, keeping a beat on anything that is in your hands or nearby!)
