Through inventive arrangements and imaginative instrumentation, the Guy Mendilow Band transports audiences on a colourful journey to Mendilow's homes in Israel, South Africa, Brazil, Mexico and the US. Ancient Sephardi romanceros blend with pulsing Brazilian rhythms, Mid-Eastern inflections and Mendilows award-winning overtone singing. The bridge-building quintet performs in six languages and on nineteen instruments including electrified berimbau, driving percussion and jaw harps that would make beat-boxers jaws drop. Mendilow also offers vibrant family performances and a range of inspiring residencies and workshops.
